Teachers for Video Lessons (Senior High School Core Subjects)

Appeal of the work We’re cooking up something that we hope will set the stage for a whole new learning experience for senior high school students!

In the next school year, the Philippines will be making history as thousands of students start senior high school. There will be a lot of challenges, and educators everywhere need to do what they can to ensure students can adjust well and, of course, succeed.

In line with this, we’re developing Quipper Video, an online service that offers top-notch video content and online assessments to cater to 21st century learners. We’re looking for excellent teachers to conduct video lessons that will be used by thousands of senior high school students nationwide.
Responsibilities Quipper School is looking for teachers who can present video lectures for the following senior high school core subjects:

・Oral communication
・Reading and writing
・21st century literature from the Philippines and the world
・Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang Filipino
・Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t Ibang Teksto Tungo sa Pananaliksik
・Introduction to the philosophy of the human person
・Understanding culture, society, and politics
・General mathematics (algebra, business math, logic)
・Statistics and probability
・Earth science/geology
・Biology
・Chemistry
・Physics

Job Description:
The teacher/video lecturer for any of the senior high school core subjects (based on the current K-12 Curriculum) is to prepare modules for assigned topics, together with an in-house editor.
Once the modules are finalized by the Quipper Content team, the lecturer will use them to present 1-hour video lecture units for recording by the Quipper Video Crew.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
・Must be familiar with the Philippines educational system (tertiary or secondary)
・Must be able to ensure quality of subject matter content
・Must be capable of designing and presenting lessons for the subject applied for, in a straightforward manner (without an audience present)
・If without prior video presenting experience, s/he must be comfortable with presenting in front of a camera in a lively and cultured manner
・Must be able to develop effective work relationships with both the editorial team and the video production team
・Must be able to submit modules on time and attend video shoots well-prepared

Experience:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience (classrooms, review centers, and/or other informal teaching set-ups)

For college instructors:
・Must have a bachelor’s degree closely related to the core subject applied for and have experience teaching the subject matter for at least 2 academic years
・Experience teaching general education subjects or introductory college courses in his/her area of specialization is an advantage

For high school teachers:
・Must have majored in the core subject applied for
・Must have passed LET and possess adequate teaching experience in higher year levels

Benefits ・Project Details: The video lesson project will be completed around April 30, 2016, with a possibility of additional projects
・Work Arrangement: Fixed-term part-time contractor
・Rate: Php 4,500 plus Php 500 allowance per unit (module and 1-hour video)
