Metabolisme adalah keseluruhan reaksi kimia dalam sel yang melibatkan enzim di dalam tubuh makhluk hidup dengan tujuan untuk menghasilkan energi. Nantinya, energi yang dihasilkan akan memiliki banyak kegunaan dalam aktivitas hidupnya. Hal ini menyangkut proses bernapas dan menghasilkan zat sisa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ternyata, kelancaran metabolisme sangat diperlukan oleh tubuh kita, lho. Dengan metabolisme yang lancar, kita bisa memiliki berat badan yang terkontrol, sirkulasi darah yang lancar, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mood <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">yang baik, kulit yang selalu remaja, sistem imun yang baik, dan lebih banyak energi. Whoa, banyak juga, ya!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ternyata, kita juga mempelajari metabolisme pada mata pelajaran Biologi. Yuk, kita kenalan dengan proses penting pada makhluk hidup ini! Metabolisme menghasilkan reaksi yang dibedakan menjadi dua macam, yaitu:<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Anabolisme<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anabolisme merupakan proses asimilasi yang menyusun beberapa senyawa organik sederhana menjadi senyawa kimia atau molekul kompleks. Proses ini berlangsung dengan menggunakan energi dari luar, dapat berupa energi cahaya maupun energi kimia. Contoh dari proses anabolisme yaitu:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h3><strong>Fotosintesis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fotosintesis merupakan reaksi penyusunan karbohidrat pada makhluk hidup yang memiliki klorofil dari lingkungan dengan menggunakan energi cahaya.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h3><strong>Kemosintesis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kemosintesis merupakan reaksi penyusunan yang biasanya terjadi pada mikro organisme dari lingkungan dengan menggunakan energi kimia.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><b>Katabolisme<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Katabolisme merupakan proses disamilasi (penguraian atau pemecahan) molekul-molekul organik zat makanan yang semula kompleks menjadi molekul-molekul yang lebih sederhana. Contoh dari proses katabolisme yaitu:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h3><strong>Respirasi<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Respirasi adalah proses dekomposisi\u2014menggunakan oksigen (respirasi aerob) maupun tidak (respirasi anaerob)\u2014dari senyawa organik kompleks menjadi senyawa yang lebih sederhana. Dalam proses ini, sejumlah energi dibebaskan. Di samping itu, terdapat juga respirasi yang hasil akhirnya berupa CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dan H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O (respirasi sempurna) dan respirasi yang hasil akhirnya berupa senyawa organik (respirasi tidak sempurna).<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h3><strong>Respirasi Aerob<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Respirasi ini melibatkan O<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sebagai akseptor elektron terakhir. Dilihat dari jalur reaksinya, respirasi aerob terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Glikolisis<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada tahap ini, terjadi pemecahan glukosa beratom karbon 6 menjadi asam piruvat beratom karbon 3 di dalam sitoplasma. Tidak hanya itu, pada tahap ini juga dihasilkan dua molekul NADH dan dua ATP jika tumbuhan dalam keadaan normal atau tiga ATP jika tumbuhan dalam keadaan stres atau sedang aktif tumbuh. ATP ini dibentuk melalui reaksi fosforilasi tingkat subtrat.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dekarboksilasi Oksidatif<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada tahap ini, asam piruvat bereaksi dengan coenzym-A lalu membentuk asetil Co-A sekaligus melepaskan CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sehingga disebut dekarbosilasi. Tahap ini menghubungkan glikolisis dengan daur Krebs. Hasil dari dekarboksilasi oksidatif adalah dua asetil Co-A, dua NADH, dan dua CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Daur Krebs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tahap yang disebut juga daur asam sitrat ini berlangsung di dalam matriks mitokondria. Hasil dari daur Krebs adalah senyawa yang berfungsi sebagai penyedia kerangka karbon bagi sintesis senyawa lain, tiga NADH, satu FADH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dan satu ATP untuk setiap satu asam piruvat. Senyawa NADH dan FADH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> kemudian akan dioksidasi dalam sistem transpor elektron untuk menghasilkan ATP.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sistem transpor elektron<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sistem ini terdiri atas suatu rantai pembawa elektron yang tersusun dari NAD, FAD, koenzim Q, dan sitokrom. Sistem ini berlangsung pada bagian membran di dalam mitokondria (kristae) dengan tujuan untuk mengoksidasi senyawa NADH dan FADH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> guna menghasilkan ATP.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Respirasi Anaerob<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Respirasi ini terjadi pada organisme yang tidak memerlukan oksigen. Bahkan, kehadiran oksigen memberi dampak negatif pada beberapa organisme anaerob obligat. Namun, adapula organisme fakultatif anaerob yang akan bersifat aerob saat oksigen tersedia dan anaerob saat oksigen tidak tersedia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Karena tidak adanya oksigen, daur Krebs dan sistem transpor elektron tidak berlangsung pada respirasi anaerob. Hal ini menyebabkan asam piruvat yang terbentuk di sitoplasma akan difermentasi menjadi alkohol atau asam laktat.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h3><strong>Fermentasi<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Serupa dengan respirasi, fermentasi adalah proses penguraian senyawa organik oleh enzim yang dihasilkan oleh mikroba. Fermentasi dapat berlangsung secara aerob ataupun anaerob. Berikut merupakan contoh dari fermentasi:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Fermentasi alkohol<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada fermentasi ini, asam piruvat mengalami dekarbolisasi menjadi asetaldehid (etanal) kemudian dibebaskan satu molekul CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Asetaldehid ini lalu direduksi oleh NADH menjadi etanol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">12<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 C<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">H<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OH + 2 CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + 2 ATP<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Glukosa<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Etanol<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Fermentasi asam laktat<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada fermentasi ini, asam piruvat menerima hidrogen dari NADH secara langsung dan membentuk laktat. Fermentasi ini terjadi pada sel-sel hewan, termasuk manusia, yang bekerja terlalu berat dan menimbulkan rasa pegal atau kelelahan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COCOOH<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2192<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CHOHCOOH + 2 ATP<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Piruvat<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asam laktat<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wah, ternyata proses metabolisme yang terjadi ini memiliki tahapan kompleks, nih.
