Tidak hanya di dalam inti sel, DNA juga terdapat di dalam mitokondria, kloroplas, sentriol, plastid, hingga sitoplasma.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Struktur DNA<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">DNA adalah suatu molekul besar kompleks yang terdiri dari dua pita panjang yang saling berpilin membentuk heliks ganda, dengan setiap pitanya merupakan suatu polimer dari ratusan hingga ribuan nukleotida. Jika terdapat kesalahan pada proses ini, sifat pada sel-sel anakan akan mengalami perubahan. RNA banyak terdapat pada ribosom atau sitoplasma dan keberadaannya tidak tetap karena mudah terurai dan harus dibentuk kembali.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Struktur RNA<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA adalah suatu polinukleotida yang tersusun dari banyak ribonukleotida. Tiap ribonukleotida tersesun dari:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Gula pentosa ribosa.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Gugus fosfat, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">yang membentuk tulang punggung RNA bersama ribosa.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Basa nitrogen, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">yang terdiri atas basa purin dan basa pirimidin.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Fungsi RNA<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA berperan dalam proses sintesis protein di dalam sel. Akan tetapi, pada beberapa jenis virus, RNA berperan seperti DNA untuk membawa informasi genetik.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Macam-Macam RNA<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA genetik, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">yaitu RNA yang berperan seperti DNA dalam membawa informasi genetik. RNA tipe ini hanya ada dalam beberapa jenis virus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA nongenetik, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">yaitu RNA yang hanya berperan dalam proses sintesis protein. RNA tipe ini ada dalam organisme yang memiliki DNA. Ada tiga macam RNA nongenetik, yaitu:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA duta (mRNA), <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">rantai tunggal panjang yang tersusun atas ratusan nukleotida. RNA ini terbentuk melalui proses transkripsi di dalam inti sel oleh DNA. Fungsi dari mRNA adalah sebagai pembawa kode genetik (kodon) dari inti sel ke sitoplasma.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA pemindah (tRNA), <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">rantai tunggal pendek yang dibentuk DNA di dalam inti sel kemudian diangkut ke sitoplasma. Fungsi dari tRNA adalah sebagai penerjemah kodon dari mRNA dan pengangkut asam-asam amino dari sitoplasma ke ribosom.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">RNA ribosom (rRNA), <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">rantai tunggal, tidak bercabang, serta fleksibel pada ribosom yang dibentuk DNA di dalam inti sel. Jumlahnya lebih banyak daripada mRNA ataupun tRNA.
