Lebih lanjut, teori geosentris menyebutkan bahwa bumi tidak bergerak dan benda-benda langit lainnya bergerak mengitarinya, termasuk matahari.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Munculnya teori ini berdasarkan pengamatan Ptolemy terhadap terbitnya matahari dari timur dan tenggelam di barat. Selain itu, Ptolemy menggunakan ilmu matematika dan geometri untuk memprediksi pergerakan benda-benda langit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berkebalikan dengan teori geosentris, teori heliosentris mempercayai bahwa matahari-lah yang menjadi pusat alam semesta.
