Elektroda padat\/logam<\/strong><br \/>\nLogam padat dijadikan elektroda dan bereaksi. Contoh elektroda Fe pada larutan FeSO<sub>4<\/sub>, elektroda Ni pada larutan H2SO<sub>4<\/sub>.<br \/>\n<strong>b. Elektroda tidak padat<\/strong><br \/>\nApabila elektroda merupakan elektroda inert (tidak mudah bereaksi) (Pt, Au, dan C), maka zat lainlah yang mengalami reaksi sel.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Nilai Potensial Sel Standar<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Suatu sel volta memiliki nilai potensial sel standar (E<sup>0 <\/sup>sel). Hal ini disebabkan karena penempatan anoda dan katoda tidak mengacu pada deret volta, sehingga E<sup>0 <\/sup>sel bernilai negatif.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Deret Volta<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Deret Volta&nbsp;<\/strong>adalah deret elektrokimia\/kereaktifan logam yang menunjukkan nilai potensial elektroda standar logam (E<sup>0<\/sup>). Untuk menjawab soal-soal Kimia SMA, kita tidak perlu menghafal nilai kereaktifan logam tersebut. Kita hanya perlu memahami posisi dari unsur-unsur pada deret volta. Penentuan logam yang tepat saat terjadinya proses pengorosian logam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Korosi (perkaratan)<\/strong>adalah suatu reaksi reduksi-oksidasi antara logam dengan faktor lingkungannya. Mekanisme terjadinya korosi secara umum adalah:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>logam menjadi anoda dan teroksidasi<\/li>\n<li>faktor lingkungan menjadi katoda dan tereduksi<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Proses korosi akan cepat terjadi apabila logam tersebut dilapisi dengan logam yang berada pada sebelah kanan di deretan voltanya.
