Zat yang tergolong sebagai fluida adalah zat cair dan gas. Pada artikel kali ini, Quipperian hanya akan belajar tentang fluida statis atau fluida yang tidak mengalir. Sebelum mempelajari hukum dasar yang berlaku pada fluida statis, Quipperian akan dikenalkan dengan besaran-besaran yang terkait fluida.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Kompresibel dan tak kompresibel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kompresibilitas adalah kemampuan suatu zat untuk dimampatkan akibat tekanan. Zat kompresibel artinya zat yang bisa dimampatkan karena bisa mengalami perubahan volume saat ditekan, contohnya gas. zat tak kompresibel artinya zat yang tidak bisa dimampatkan karena tidak mengalami perubahan volume saat ditekan, contohnya zat cair.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Massa jenis<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Massa jenis adalah ukuran kerapatan suatu benda. Semakin rapat susunan partikel di dalamnya, semakin besar massa jenisnya. Berat jenis ini berbeda dengan massa jenis. Perbedaannya adalah berat jenis dipengaruhi oleh percepatan gravitasi, sehingga nilainya bisa berubah-ubah sesuai percepatan gravitasi di tempat tersebut. Meresap artinya gerakan naik atau turun zat cair. Kapilaritas ini dipengaruhi oleh adanya tegangan permukaan, gaya adhesi, dan gaya kohesi antara zat cair dan dinding kapiler. Jika gaya adhesi lebih besar daripada kohesi, maka zat cair akan naik dalam pipa kapiler, contohnya air. Jika gaya kohesi lebih besar daripada gaya adhesi, maka zat cair akan turun, contohnya raksa.
