Cara menggunakan katrol, yaitu dengan diberi tali sepanjang roda atau piringannya. Jika ditinjau dari cara kerjanya, katrol merupakan pesawat sederhana yang sama dengan pengungkit. Hal itu karena di dalam katrol terdapat titik tumpu, titik kuasa, dan titik beban. Prinsip kerja katrol adalah mengubah arah kerja gaya, sehingga bisa mempermudah pekerjaan. Katrol tetap<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Katrol tetap adalah katrol yang tidak mengalami perubahan posisi saat digunakan. Hal itu karena posisi katrol terikat pada tempat tertentu. Katrol tetap memiliki titik tumpu di bagian porosnya. Benda yang akan diangkat diletakkan di poros katrol, sehingga beban totalnya adalah berat katrol ditambah beban yang diangkat.
