Itulah mengapa lampu memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cahaya yang dihasilkan lampu akan memantul ke semua benda yang dikenainya. Nantinya, pantulan tersebut akan diteruskan ke mata kita. Mengapa cahaya bisa memantul? Hal itu karena salah satu sifat cahaya adalah bisa dipantulkan. Apakah hanya itu? Merambat Lurus<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cahaya akan senantiasa merambat lurus dengan kecepatan <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 x 10<\/span><sup><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> m\/s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Untuk membuktikannya, cobalah kamu nyalakan senter. Jika kamu perhatikan, berkas cahaya dari senter akan berbentuk garis lurus. Nah, sifat cahaya inilah yang biasanya dimanfaatkan pada sinar laser.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Mampu Menembus Benda Bening<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Benda bening seperti kaca mampu ditembus oleh cahaya. Cahaya yang\u00a0 masuk melalui benda bening akan diteruskan sepenuhnya. Artinya, tidak ada yang dipantulkan. Ternyata, sifat tersebut dimanfaatkan untuk membuat lampu. Jika kamu perhatikan, bohlam memiliki permukaan bening, sehingga cahaya lampu bisa diteruskan ke ruangan.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3. Mengalami Pemantulan (Refleksi)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saat melewati suatu penghalang seperti kayu, tembok, atau besi, cahaya tidak akan diteruskan, melainkan dipantulkan. Berdasarkan bentuk pantulannya, pemantulan dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu pemantulan teratur dan baur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pemantulan teratur terjadi jika seberkas cahaya melewati benda yang permukaannya rata, misalnya cermin. Sedangkan pemantulan baur akan terjadi jika seberkas cahaya melewati bidang yang tidak rata, misalnya kayu, batu bata, dan sebagainya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4. Pada kondisi sebenarnya, pensil tidak patah, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lho<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Mengapa bisa demikian?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hal itu karena cahaya melalui dua medium yang berbeda, yaitu dari udara ke air. Seperti kamu ketahui bahwa air dan udara memiliki indeks bias yang berbeda.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jika seberkas cahaya melalui dua medium yang berbeda indeks biasnya, maka kecepatan cahaya juga akan berbeda. Perbedaan kecepatan cahaya itulah yang membuat seolah-olah pensil terlihat patah. Peristiwa itu disebut sebagai pembiasan cahaya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. Mengalami Penguraian (Dispersi)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Siapa sih yang tidak suka melihat pelangi? Fenomena langit yang sangat indah itu tidak setiap waktu bisa kamu lihat. Namun, kamu tak perlu khawatir karena terbentuknya pelangi tidak lepas dari sifat-sifat cahaya yang disebut dispersi. Kamu juga bisa membuat pelangi dengan memanfaatkan sifat tersebut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dispersi merupakan peristiwa terurainya cahaya polikromatik (putih) menjadi monokromatik (merah-ungu). Pelangi dihasilkan oleh adanya peristiwa dispersi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cahaya matahari yang bersifat polikromatik dibiaskan oleh tetes air hujan yang ada di atmosfer dengan sudut yang berbeda-beda. Akibatnya, warna polikromatik dari cahaya matahari akan terurai menjadi monokromatik.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nah, warna-warna monokromatik tersebut nantinya akan memantul di belakang tetesan air hujan yang berbentuk speris dan membentuk pelangi. Kamu cukup menyediakan prisma bening, lalu tempatkan di bawah cahaya Matahari. Lalu, amati warna-warna yang terbentuk.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>6. Mengalami Pelenturan (Difraksi)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Difraksi adalah pembelokan arah rambat cahaya saat dilewatkan pada celah sempit. Cahaya yang terdifraksi akan membentuk daerah gelap dan terang.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>7. Memiliki Energi<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saat kamu berjemur di bawah terik Matahari dalam waktu yang cukup lama, apa yang akan kamu rasakan? Tentu kulit terasa panas, kan? Panas atau kalor yang diterima oleh kulit menunjukkan bahwa cahaya memiliki energi berupa energi kalor.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>8. Mampu Merambat Tanpa Medium<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biasanya, gelombang bisa merambat jika ada medium. Contohnya gelombang tali yang merambat karena ada udara. Lalu, bagaimana dengan cahaya?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hal yang cukup spesial bagi cahaya karena mampu merambat di ruang hampa sekalipun. Contohnya, cahaya Matahari yang sampai ke Bumi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Untuk sampai ke Bumi, cahaya Matahari harus melalui ruang hampa di luar angkasa. Jika cahaya tidak bisa merambat di ruang hampa, Matahari juga tidak akan pernah bisa sampai ke Bumi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>9. Bersifat Dualisme<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cahaya bersifat dualisme. Artinya, bisa disebut sebagai gelombang maupun partikel. Mengapa demikian? Cahaya bisa disebut sebagai gelombang karena memiliki panjang gelombang.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meski demikian, seorang ilmuwan asal Amerika, Arthur Compton, menemukan bahwa cahaya tersusun atas partikel. Hal itu dibuktikan dengan tumbukan antara partikel penyusun cahaya dengan elektron.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>10. Dipancarkan Dalam Bentuk Radiasi<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radiasi merupakan energi yang dipancarkan dalam bentuk gelombang atau kalor. Tak heran, kamu akan merasa panas saat bersentuhan dengan cahaya, baik cahaya Matahari, lampu, laser berdaya tinggi, dan sebagainya.
