Semoga selalu sehat dan tetap semangat belajar, ya!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada tahun 2018, komunitas petani <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Woman<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> asal Kabupaten Mojokerto mendatangi Kantor Staf Presiden. Mereka mengadu bahwa banyak warga yang terserang penyakit dan seringnya gagal panen di daerah Lakardowo, Mojokerto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ternyata,\u00a0 hal itu disebabkan oleh adanya pencemaran tanah oleh limbah beracun dan berbahaya. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanah di daerah Lakardowo positif terkontaminasi logam berat dan berbahaya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Itu merupakan sebagian kecil dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh pencemaran tanah. Menurut FAO (organisasi pangan dan pertanian dunia), ada 20 juta hektar tanah yang terpaksa ditinggalkan karena telah terdegradasi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sangat disayangkan jika hal ini terjadi, mengingat tanah merupakan tempat hidupnya jutaan mikroorganisme yang mampu menunjang kehidupan manusia. Penggunaan pupuk kimia dan pestisida<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penggunaan pupuk kimia dan pestisida secara berlebih dan terus-menerus dapat menyebabkan tanah menjadi asam, sehingga meracuni tanaman itu sendiri dan membunuh mikroorganisme yang terkandung di dalamnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Limbah rumah tangga<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Limbah rumah tangga seperti deterjen, sabun cuci piring bisa menjadi kontaminan di dalam tanah. Semakin banyak limbah deterjen di dalam tanah, semakin kecil kemungkinan organisme pengurai bisa hidup di dalamnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3. Limbah radioaktif<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Siapa yang tidak kenal dengan limbah beracun dan berbahaya ini? Beberapa bulan lalu, masyarakat Tangerang Selatan dihebohkan dengan penemuan limbah radioaktif dari BATAN. Limbah radioaktif yang dibuang di tanah bisa menyebabkan racun, baik untuk hewan, tumbuhan, dan manusia.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4. Limbah logam berat<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keberadaan logam berat seperti arsen, merkuri, krom di dalam tanah ternyata bisa menyebabkan tanah menjadi tidak fertil. Limbah seperti inilah yang menyebabkan pencemaran di daerah Lakardowo. Limbah logam berat biasanya dihasilkan oleh pabrik-pabrik pengolahan bahan beracun dan berbahaya. Tanpa memikirkan dampaknya, mereka sengaja membuang limbah ke tempat-tempat yang masih fertil, contohnya lahan pertanian.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. Limbah plastik<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plastik merupakan salah satu ancaman besar bagi kesuburan tanah. Bayangkan saja, satu buah plastik baru bisa terurai sekitar 100 tahun. Bagaimana dengan jutaan plastik? Mengurangi tingkat kesuburan<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tanah yang tercemar akan mengalami penurunan kesuburan. Jika hal ini dibiarkan secara terus menerus, maka tanah akan bersifat tidak fertil atau rusak. Akibatnya, tanah tidak bisa digunakan sebagai media untuk bercocok tanam. Tidak heran jika ada 20 juta hektar tanah yang telah ditinggalkan karena mengalami degradasi.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Memicu pencemaran lain<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pencemaran tanah bisa mengakibatkan pencemaran air dan udara. Bagaimana tidak, di tanah bagian bawah tersimpan cadangan air (air bawah tanah). Coba Quipperian bayangkan, apa jadinya jika tanah sudah tercemar? Sudah pasti air di bawahnya juga akan tercemar. Tidak hanya itu, gas-gas yang dihasilkan oleh pencemaran tanah akan dibuang ke udara sebagai polutan. Polutan ini mengakibatkan pencemaran udara.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3. Menyebabkan berbagai penyakit<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pencemaran tanah bisa menyebabkan berbagai masalah kesehatan, misalnya diare, penyakit kronis jangka panjang, malnutrisi, kerusakan ginjal, hati, dan masih banyak lainnya. Wajar saja jika penduduk Lakardowo sering terserang penyakit, mengingat tanahnya sudah tercemar sedemikian parah.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4. Menurunkan kualitas hasil pertanian<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seperti halnya penduduk Lakardowo, pencemaran tanah bisa menyebabkan berbagai masalah pertanian. Salah satunya, sering gagal panen. Padi atau tanaman budidaya lain cepat menguning dan mengering. Hal itu disebabkan kurangnya nutrisi karena tanah semakin rusak akibat kontaminasi limbah.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. Tanah bersifat toksik\/beracun<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toksisitas tanah sangat berpengaruh pada kehidupan makhluk hidup di dalamnya. Oleh sebab itu, kita harus bahu membahu mengatasinya. Adapun langkah untuk mengatasi pencemaran tanah adalah sebagai berikut.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Teknik ekstraksi dan pemisahan<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Langkah ini mungkin sulit dilakukan oleh individu, tapi tetap membutuhkan dukungan dari tiap penduduk. Teknik ini dikhususkan untuk menanggulangi pencemar berupa logam berat. Teknik ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara mencampurkan minyak, tanah yang telah tercemar, dan pelarut organik. Reaksi ini memicu terlepasnya logam berat seperti kadmium, krom, arsen, dan logam berat lainnya dari tanah.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Teknik penggunaan mikroba (bioremediasi)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tanah yang sudah tercemar ternyata bisa dikembalikan ke kondisi asalnya menggunakan mikroba. Mikroba dikultur atau dikembangkan di laboratorium. Barulah dilepaskan ke tanah yang tercemar. Aktivitas enzim mikroba tersebut dapat mengubah struktur bahan pencemar menjadi tidak beracun. Contoh mikroba yang biasa digunakan adalah <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pseudomonas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4. Menggunakan pupuk ramah lingkungan<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penggunaan pupuk kimia bisa digantikan dengan pupuk kompos. Pupuk kompos adalah pupuk yang terbuat dari limbah organik seperti ampas tebu, sayuran basi, maupun bumbu dapur kadaluarsa. Penggunaan pupuk kompos memiliki dampak yang jauh lebih baik, misalnya menambah nutrisi di dalam tanah, mampu meningkatkan kualitas hasil pertanian, dan masih banyak lainnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. Minimalisir penggunaan plastik<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keberadaan plastik bisa digantikan dengan tas dari kertas, kain, atau limbah daur ulang. Bawalah tas tersebut saat akan berbelanja, sehingga penggunaan plastik bisa diminimalisir.
