Tanpa adanya zat aditif, makanan akan terlihat pucat, kurang menarik, serta tidak bertahan lama.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contoh penggunaan zat aditif adalah pewarna hijau untuk pembuatan kue klepon, cendol, dan kue lapis.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Jenis-Jenis Zat Aditif<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berdasarkan perolehannya, zat aditif dibagi menjadi dua yaitu zat aditif alami dan sintetis atau buatan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perbedaan antara keduanya adalah sebagai berikut.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>1. Zat aditif alami<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zat aditif alami adalah zat tambahan pada makanan yang diperoleh dari bahan-bahan di alam.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pada umumnya, zat alami tidak menimbulkan efek samping jika dikonsumsi dalam jangka waktu yang lama.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berdasarkan fungsinya, zat aditif alami dibagi lagi menjadi beberapa jenis seperti berikut.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>a. Pemanis alami<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pemanis alami adalah pemanis yang berasal dari bahan-bahan alami.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contoh bahan yang berfungsi sebagai pemanis alami adalah gula pasir yang terbuat dari tebu, gula merah yang terbuat dari aren, madu, kulit kayu, dan sebagainya.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penggunaan pemanis alami harus tetap sesuai kebutuhan serta tidak berlebihan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jika penggunaannya terlalu berlebihan, bisa memicu obesitas dan penyakit diabetes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>b. Pewarna alami<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pewarna alami adalah pewarna yang diekstrak dari bahan-bahan alam.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contoh pewarna alami adalah warna kuning dari kunyit, warna hijau dari ekstrak daun pandan, warna merah dari buah naga, oranye dari wortel, ungu dari buah <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blueberry<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dan sebagainya.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>c. Pengawet alami<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pengawet alami adalah bahan-bahan untuk mengawetkan makanan yang diperoleh secara alami tanpa bahan sintetis.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proses pengawetan makanan secara alami bisa dilakukan dengan cara pembekuan, pengasapan, pengerianga, serta fermentasi.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contoh pengawetan adalah pembekuan ikan, pengasapan ikan pari agar lebih awet, cabai dikeringkan agar tahan lama, dan sebagainya.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>d. Zat aditif buatan<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zat aditif buatan adalah zat tambahan pada makanan yang diperoleh secara instan dari olahan pabrik.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Berdasarkan fungsinya, zat aditif buatan dibagi menjadi lima jenis, yaitu sebagai berikut.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>a. Pemanis buatan<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pemanis buatan memiliki tingkat kemanisan di atas rata-rata pemanis alami.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biasanya, pemanis ini digunakan untuk produksi skala besar pada industri minuman instan. Contoh pemanis buatan adalah sebagai berikut.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aspartam, yaitu pemanis buatan yang memiliki kalori sedang dengan tingkat kemanisan 200 kali pemanis alami. Aspartam ini bisa bereaksi dengan baik jika dilarutkan dalam air.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sakarin, yaitu pemanis buatan tanpa kalori dengan tingkat kemanisan 200 sampai 500 kali pemanis alami. Sakarin ini terbuat dari garam natrium dan tidak berbau. Penggunaan sakarin secara berlebihan akan menimbulkan rasa pahit pada makanan atau minuman.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Siklamat, yaitu pemanis buatan yang memiliki tingkat kemanisan 30 kali pemanis alami. Pemanis ini cocok digunakan pada pembuatan es puter, selai, es krim, dan minuman berfermentasi. Namun, beberapa negara sudah menangguhkan penggunaan siklamat karena efek samping yang ditimbulkannya.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>b. Pewarna buatan<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pewarna buatan adalah zat kimia yang ditambahkan pada makanan untuk memperbaiki penampilan makanan tersebut.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pewarna alami memang lebih aman untuk digunakan, namun kurang efektif jika digunakan untuk produksi makanan skala besar.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oleh sebab itu, pewarna buatan dianggap lebih efektif selama penggunaannya tidak berlebihan. Pengawet buatan<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pengawet buatan adalah bahan kimia sintetis yang ditambahkan untuk mengawetkan makanan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bahan pengawet buatan aman untuk dikonsumsi jika ditambahkan sesuai takaran yang telah ditentukan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contoh bahan pengawet buatan adalah natrium benzoat, asam sorbat, sulfit, dan sebagainya.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>d. Penyedap buatan<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Penyedap buatan lebih dikenal dengan istilah micin, yaitu bahan yang ditambahkan untuk menambah rasa umami pada makanan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bahan penyedap mengandung senyawa kimia Monosodium Glutamat (MSG). Penggunaan MSG ini sering menimbulkan pro dan kontra di kalangan masyarakat.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Di balik itu semua, Lembaga Makanan dan Obat-Obatan Amerika Serikat (FDA) telah menyatakan bahwa MSG aman untuk dikonsumsi namun tidak boleh berlebihan.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contoh penyedap buatan adalah micin, vetsin, kaldu ayam bubuk, kaldu sapi bubuk, kaldu jamur, dan sebagainya.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>e.
