Misalnya saja kamu diminta untuk berjalan 10 m, pasti kamu akan bertanya \u201c10 meter ke arah mana?\u201d. Berbeda halnya jika kamu diminta memotong pita sepanjang 10 m, pasti kamu akan langsung memotong tanpa memperdulikan arahnya. Dari permisalan tersebut, jelas bahwa permintaan jalan sejauh 10 m merupakan besaran vektor karena kamu harus tahu dulu arahnya. Oleh karena memiliki arah, penulisan besaran ini juga mengacu pada penulisan vektor. Nah, bilangan 70 menunjukkan nilai besarannya.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Memiliki arah atau arahnya bisa ditentukan<br>Hal yang begitu spesial pada besaran vektor adalah arah sangat diperhitungkan. Contoh, mobil bergerak 70 km\/jam ke utara, lalu berbelok ke selatan dengan kecepatan 50 km\/jam. Apa perbedaan antara kedua metode tersebut?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Metode grafis<\/h3>\n<p>Metode grafis adalah metode penentuan resultan dua buah vektor atau lebih dengan cara pengukuran secara langsung menggunakan penggaris dan busur. Metode grafis dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu sebagai berikut.<p>\n<ol>\n  <li>Metode poligon<\/li>\n<p>Metode poligon adalah metode untuk menentukan resultan vektor dengan menempatkan titik pangkal vektor kedua di ujung vektor pertama. Jika banyak vektornya hanya dua, maka metodenya disebut metode segitiga. Hasil resultannya adalah panjang antara titik pangkal vektor pertama dan ujung vektor kedua. Titik pangkal P berada di ujung O dan titik pangkal Q berada di ujung P. Panjang antara titik pangkal O dan ujung Q disebut sebagai resultan vektor atau hasil penjumlahan antara ketiga vektor tersebut. Dengan demikian, R bisa dirumuskan sebagai |R| = O + P + Q.<p>\n<p>Gambar (2) hampir sama dengan gambar (1), namun hanya terdiri dari dua buah vektor, yaitu P dan Q. Resultan vektor yang dibentuk oleh P dan Q dirumuskan sebagai |R| = P + Q.<p>\n\n<li>Metode jajargenjang<\/li>\n<p>Metode jajargenjang adalah metode untuk menentukan resultan vektor dengan meletakkan ujung pangkal dua buah vektor di titik yang sama. Proyeksi kedua vektor tersebut akan bertemu di satu titik ujung yang sama pula. Panjang antara titik pertemuan kedua pangkal vektor dan titik pertemuan proyeksi kedua ujung vektor disebut sebagai resultan vektornya. Dengan adanya metode ini, kamu bisa mengetahui resultan suatu vektor secara presisi tanpa perlu mengukurnya secara langsung.
