Mengapa disebut pertidaksamaan linear? Karena pertidaksamaan ini menghasilkan grafik penyelesaian berupa garis lurus (linear). Oleh karena suatu pertidaksamaan, maka akan berlaku tanda \u201c&lt;\u201d, \u201c&gt;\u201d, \u201c\u2264\u201d, atau \u201c\u2265\u201d. Caranya dengan mengubah tanda pertidaksamaan menjadi persamaan atau \u201c=\u201d.
